Delivery of 38's

I took delivery today of my 38's (the wife didnt see either)

I thought I would take the dog out for a walk & give it a little go, bearing in mind my dog is a 8 month old choc lab not on a lead with a led red collar on,

I stopped on a path for a scan & sure enough saw 11 rabbits at less then 80 yards, had a good look at some sheep at about 100 yards, next thing a fox just starts walking down the field towards me, (dog still mooching about) it stops about 50 yards away plonks its arse down & just watches me for a bit then makes a few noises, I turned to the field behind me, & sat there doing exactly same another one @ about 70 yards
the only problem was I didnt have a rifle with me  we all know it doesnt happen like that when you do

Cant wait to get out with the thermal properly

..And I thought you'd got yourself a new pair of jeans which were too tight to chase the dog with a red collar :o

Nice to hear it's finally in your possession Rick  . With all those rabbits and foxes about it's certainly going to get some use with you!

Nice one Rick! Isn't that just bloody typical of foxes taking the mick!

I get more chuffed by mine every time I use it..... if the wife catches you with it you can impress her by showing her where the CH pipes run under the floorboards. Trouble is you might land yourself a job having to insulate them! :lolno:

Good stuff!

You're right about getting more chuffed every time you use it, I had a lovely long walk with the dog tonight, two hours to be precise, (funny how I can take the dog out for two hours but I'm taking the p*ss if I go shooting,)
I had to take the thermal of course,
I was well impressed how you could see through heavy wooded area's & identify deer & rabbits that I was unable to see with the tube,
I even put the powerful head torch on & couldn't see them because the cover was too thick,
the biggest surprise was watching all the field mice climbing up & down the grass stalks without a care that I was watching them,
The Icing on the cake
I had just sat down to write a little bit about what I had seen & to say if anyone out there is having doubts whether The Pulsar HD38's is up to the job & worth the money, my answer is yes it is & buy one & join the party
we had a neighbour knock our door & said that there might be a fox attacking our chickens, I grabbed the thermal, head torch & run up the garden to see what was going on, I didnt bother to take a rifle as my garden backs into heavy woods & the night vision is almost impossible to shoot in it,
my chickens were fine but I could hear a big commotion going on in the woods & also could see another fox mooching about not to far from the garden so back down the garden to fetch a rifle, on my return after a little scan with the thermal I picked up the fox, it knew I was there but was happy to keep moving about, every time I put the tube on I couldnt see the fox, I even put the head torch on, nope still couldn't see it, back to the thermal, yep there it is, I decided to quickly change to the NV & watch to see if I could get a clear shoot, sure enough the opportunity presented its self & job done, one less fox, there is no way I could have located this fox without the thermal & get a shot off, I did manage to see another fox several times in the wood, caught it watching me loads but I just couldnt pick it up on the NV, I even could see heat areas where it had been sat watching me, where it had had a p*ss & a sh*t
lets hope I get it before it gets my chickens
I know me & the 38's are going to get on just fine & locating a kill is so easy, no wonder you all love your thermals

I'm paying for my 38S tomorrow, so should have it next week (it isn't coming from ScottCountry). Will be nice to compare it side by side with the 518C
