Recently got in to airgunning at Christmas when I bought my lad a lightning XL. Since then we have had 4 rifles and 5 scopes lol. We are now settled with a hw100 for him, an airwolf for me and a 97k for fun now and then.

Up till recently we have stuck to plinking but my friend took us out on his permission for rabbits and what not and we now have the bug for that.

I don't want to waste my money buying and selling lamps and stuff like we have with scopes so I'm looking for some advice on what I need to do a bit of lamping. I was looking at ledrays and then noticed the tri star pro which I really do like the look of, Is this a reasonable start. A lot of guys have been talking about the night master 800 on the bbs forum and when I have looked in to it the cost starts to escalate rapidly when you start to add things like pressure switches and different coloured LEDs. If the night master is the way to go I'm prepared to pay the money providing I don't want something different after a few goes.

Woosh... Hi Bazz, Welcome to the forum mate. You don't need no night master to scare the poor bunnies to death, nor be spending silly money.

For air rifle ranges? I have just the thingy for theee... looksee at the pretty picture.

And there are much cheaper options if you use a Dx lens and can wait a few weeks.
In fact, I have some of them here too, and you might already have one of the torches.

Why dont you have a read through the forum with a view to possibly putting together a nv system you dont have to spend a great deal at first just to see how you get on with it and there is a lot of very helpful people on here who will answer any questions you may have , once you have tried the nv lamping never seems quite the same

bazzer, really mate any of the cheapo zoomable cree led torch's will do you just fine

there are quite a few diy torch builds in the illumination section that will cost a LOT less than the nm800, but give very similar results.... but as Adam and Dave have already pointed out, some of the standard zoom torches off the bay will be more than good enough for air rifle ranges

Thanks for the responses people. It's a mine field with so many to choose from. Ill have a scan through over the next couple of days to see what I can find.

as for the tri star. seperate battery packs are a thing of the past for me. the t20 will give you 150-200yrds
and about 2.5hrs on one battery

If you are looking for a lamp to put on your air rifle then your max range is likely to be 35 yards. Therefore something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REMOTE-SUPERF ... 3cd53bb22a

Will do the job. You will need a figure of 8 or similar to hold it in place.
If you are looking at nv then some of the lads here.

If the light is too bright the bunnies will run away. You may even want a red sweet wrapper on it to dim it down.
