AUGUST FREE PRIZE DRAW.

Post by PESCA » 31 Jul 2013, 09:48

We're almost at that time again  (curbs excitement by stuffing fist in mouth  ).

Well for the August FREE prize draw, there's a slight change of plan. Firstly, we're putting the craft knife sets on hold

Six prizes this month, all for Ray Mears wannabees. We've three Diamond Pocket Sharpeners and three Emergency Fire Starters (bet you start singing along to the Prodigy at this point).

Question will be posted on this thread tomorrow evening at 8pm and the first six correct answers to reach me, VIA EMAIL this time, will be the lucky winners.

Rules

Rule number one. There are no rules. Rubbish, there has to be.

To enter, you must have at least ten posts on the forum.

You must have entered your location in your profile.

Only one entry per month, per member.

The first six correct answers win the prizes.

The answer must be sent via email, to me. pm's or posts on the thread will not be accepted

Overseas members: apologies, but postage to you would be prohibitive, so, unless you want to pay the postage, you can't play.

Rocket scientists need not apply.

Good luck.

Okay fellas, here goes.

Don't forget:

Do not put your answer on this thread.

Do not pm me with your answer.

Please send your answer to my email address.

When used in reference to tubed nightvision, there is a phrase that comes up in the specification, and that is FOM or, Figure Of Merit.

Question is, how do you arrive at the FOM? In other words, how is it calculated?

Good luck chaps.

And another, bit out of my league this one though
"Land Rover, the worlds best 4x4 by far"

"Argo, a great 8x8"

It appears I wasn't too far out with my thoughts, the general idea was correct, the wording is probably miles out
"Land Rover, the worlds best 4x4 by far"

"Argo, a great 8x8"

Sorry for the delay, fellas, but been sitting out with the shottie, waiting for a pheasant-killing fox. No show :(

Anyhow, we've got four answers and four winners up to now. In order:

John (Fox Hunter)
Rod (P)
Chas
Grenville (Gren)

Two prizes left, chaps

Bloody discrimination against us colonials, that's what it is! Just another case of we was robbed after the Ashes, the Lions, the..... Not that I need an emergency fire starter. Spitting in the bush in Australia is enough to set it on fire.
