A Midlands meet ? Just a thought.

Post by rodp » 21 Jul 2013, 11:27

Do you think, possibly, maybe, if I could get the land (a farm) a meet here in the Midlands would be of any interest. I was thinking perhaps an overnight camping meet?

I know one farm on which there wouldn't be a problem but it would have to be target only, no live prey (his wife's against it) and I don't know what it's cleared for. Another one I have permission on would allow live prey but again I think it would be open ticket only.
Probably the best bet would be sub 12 air considering there could be a few folk milling about.

We would also more than likely have to bung the farmer a few dollars, even if only out of courtesy.

Any thoughts gents? Or is it just a daft idea?

I'd agree with Adam there. Probably preferable to have cut-outs at various ranges and of varying sizes.

Bit of ging gang gully, a few sherberts and the telling of typical hunter's tall tales :silent: .

That's one at least

Perhaps a shooting area, maybe some targets in the trees and bushes with a decent backstop for sub 12? May make the evening a laugh if it's not taken too seriously.

That's exactly what I was thinking George, somewhere to plink and then just generally have a laugh and pass the night away.
