I do indeed have one. Great when ratting. The onlY thing I did with mine was to drill and tap the base so the rifle support could be adjusted and brought up closer. Makes it much more stable.
I like mine and for the price would recommend it.

i always think i don't like these big bulky seats. not my style at all.....but why?....if your on ambush why not be comfortable, would fit on a truck cab roof rather nicely too

You're right, it would be great, I'd love one, it's just the carrying it across the fields to a suitable site.
Why don't they make them in ally, half the weight
(probably three times the price though)

I have an 'Idleback' chair (they're ally) and have just about completed my own version. I call it the 'Idlebastard' chair
First, take 1.6 surveyors theodolite tripods (one doesn't quite do it. Idleback have used 1.3 and skimped on the backrest), then, improve on an Idleback.
I've two here and am waiting on a third one so that I can make two chairs. Deal is, mate supplies the theodolites tripods, I do the construction
Have to say that Idleback chairs are seriously good. Not worth £300 plus, but nothing out there as good (at the moment).

Just looked at them (tripods) on the bay ..................they ain't cheap
Tell you what, tell your mate I'll exchange some heavy duty tripod carry bags for some (1.6 ?) tripods, he can have colour of choice
