Was sat on a stable roof last weekend, the very smelly waste from a butchered deer carcass as bait, waiting for charlie. It's not the point I'm making but, there is a connection

To say it was uncomfortable up there is an understatement. I was like a neurotic flea ridden Stoat, caught on an electric fence.

Mozzies, I hate them. The unfortunate thing is, they love me.

I have to be out in the fields at least twice every day to tend to the animals This year is looking like a bad one for the flying blighters and biters. I'm trying out Skin So Soft again after using it late last year, not sure if it works for me yet though.

Walking the pooch last night there were plagues of gnats and midges making a cloud over my head, the Mrs had almost none ?

Any signs of anywhere else of suffering particularly badly with them yet this year ???


Very strangely, due to the weather most likely, I saw only 2 wasps in total last year. Won't miss those little darlings because I react badly to the sting and swell up like an elephant with a peanut allergy !

Used it for donkeys years dude, good stuff. Don't get any on your waterproof membrane / goretex, it will melt it !

That's the reason why I'm giving SSS a try, plus it will prolong good the looks of my incredibly handsome face

aye its the proper gear alright. i once took all the dye off one side of a knife sheath with it, whilst my mate melted the frame of his glasses to the point the lenses fell out lol

No mate, no sign of her. It did'nt help that they had a BBQ over the other side of the fence until after dark, reggae blasting out.
Apparently, they don't like reggae !

Going back down tonight, using the same bait too and it's buzzing now

It's cooler tonight and the wind is blowing the right way so, fingers crossed

40 denier tights (if they still available), one leg up one arm the other leg up tuther, make sure you cut em down the crotch first.
wide brimmed hat with another leg over the top(bank robber style). They can't get there biting bits thru the nylon.
Believe me it works, spent loads of hours in scotland looking like a twat, but not getting bitten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

get a head net.. theres hard plastick netting and then theres a soft material mesh..the later is a bit better for seeing out through.

The tights are a good idea, I'll try that but they might clash with me fishnet stockings though !

Had a scruffy little vixen last night, in the field next door. It was the mother vixen I was after but beggers can't be choosers. Apparently she has cubs so it's her and them I'm looking for, the little vixen looked like last year's cub so maybe it was a helper with the litter ?

Going there again tonight.
