had a pm off a bloke........

Post by sunndog » 01 May 2013, 13:37

......a couple of weeks ago

zero posts but been a member for a little while
anyway, he was asking for help/more info, including some more pics with his T20 conversion
so i spent a bit of time explaining stuff to him and directing him to relevant forum threads

and at the end of my msg i suggested that he post on the forum and introduce himself etc

not heard a word back. no even a quick "cheers mate"
i'v been using forums long enough to not be surprised but. it don't cost owt to be polite does it?

Yes, I agree with you here. I have had similar dealings on and off forums and it seems that such people take things for granted... One way... Take, Take, Take... Never giving or a thank you.

So sad! :(
...the doctor said that I need to do gentle exercise... I said to him that I already did... trigger squeezing!

That's unfortunately quite common Adam.

Most times I try and persuade the member to ask the Q on open forum so anyone else curious about the exact same thing can read it and get the answer from several sources, it's basically what most of us do to the benefit of everyone else. It got so bad at one point I began getting quite insistent about it. Not just here.

I had a guy over at the airgun forum send me a PM, asking for advice on his camcorder NV setup (this was a few months ago now). I repllied to him with very informative and lenghty post explaining everything he wanted. Not a whisper back (even though he recieved my message)

Just not nice and bad manners really, no other word for it.

Thankfully it hasn't happened to me and I've had some good chats with quite a few

different members.

One of the most friendliest forums and folk still act like that.

Some of you no doubt came across a recent post over on AirgunBBS.

The fella basically said "Tell me everything I need to build my own nv. Yes, I know that it's all out there on the forums, but I'm a very busy bloke and I don't have the time to go looking for the information" :o

Guess what the general response was?

I had a guy PM me on Pigeon watch asking about how I fitted my Lightforce through my Sunroof on a Freelander - I replied in full (cos I'm like that) & told him + I still had the sunroof complete with hole for mount & if he was local he welcome to come & collect it - He said he'd happily pay postage, so he paid & I posted - never heard a thing since - I asked him to let me know he'd got it & how he got on fitting his Lightforce etc. Never heard another thing :wtf:

Such is life eh
