for those of you not on the stalking directory, have a look at this

how could the authorities police the manufacture of weapons using a 3d printer?

WOW
That's frightening and exciting, all at the same time !
WOW
All you need is a single item and you then can have thousands in no time at all.
It's like an Oppenheimer creation all over again
WOW
H
...is this a pistol in my hand, or am I just pleased to see you ?
Re: 3D printed gun
you cant print off a barrel or ammo so its a bit of a non starter really as far as criminals go. if your able to get barrels and ammo then you are either in a country were weapons are freely available or have good enough contacts that you could get illegal weapons if you really wanted to anyway

hi sunndog, they have already printed off complete hand guns that have the capabilitly of fireing at least a single shot, if not more,
agreed the ammo is a different matter,
as said in the interview, it could be possible to get into another country, clear security at the airport and then print off a weapon just by downloading the right program and printing it off
scary stuff

i'm quite impressed they can do a barrel albeit one for a pistol witch will probably blow up in your face on the second shot lol....speaking of shots. once you get through airport security and by whetever means get access to a 3D printer you still have to get some ammo before you can kill the president.....at that point you may as well just get a whole gun
its very cool to be able to print stuff off like that. but i reckon there might be one or two crimes committed using printed weapons, and thats only by nutjob americans doing it because they think the anarchists cookbook is some sort of holy tome

Hydraulic tubing is available almost everywhere and .22 ammo could be swallowed. Apart from that shotgun cartridges can be found all over the place
I reckon you could go to most places and have a firing weapon in a day with this printing.
The big problem is of course closer to home, once the local hoodies start printing them off no-one will be safe. What you going to do when one pulls a printed gun on you, you going to take a chance on it not working or are you going to hand over your wallet and car (they wouldn't want my car) ??

i just cant see it catching on
factory made guns are easy enough to come by for those that want them , and cheaper than a printer lol....

I don't think they'll buy a printer, someone will shortly be printing these guns out for a few quid and selling them on street corners. Apparently, so I've been told (so unproven) in Birmingham shootings have reached the stage where they aren't reported any more, they run at 1 per week average
Quite how they expect to control this I haven't a clue, unless they let us all arm ourselves.
Licence to carry .................certainly Sir, how many would you like

I think in fact Adam, if there were more guns available the shootings would rise
I don't know what it's like round your way but you certainly don't walk around Birmingham / Wolverhampton in the early hours. There was another bloke kicked to death just up the road a couple of weeks ago, the only reason for that treatment was they hadn't got a gun. Given one of these printed guns they'll just shoot you in the back and take your wallet.
Things are not good.
