Well, Geoff (silent shooter) originally set-up and paid for the site and John (sirhank) did (and continues to do) all of the techie stuff.
There was originally another founder member, who greatly abused the good nature of Geoff and the forum, so went along his merry way a short time later. That's what you call 'burning his bridges' for sure, but the good thing is that the forum went from strength to strength, as did the content of the posts from the new members, and it continues to do so.
I'm co-owner of the forum along with Geoff and my membership number was originally no.8, but owing to the signing on problems we had at the beginning, I was relegated

(we now know that was down to a browser/cookie problem). Declan (Gloop) is now a moderator and is a great help in sifting through membership applications and checking that bad language or bad conduct doesn't happen (thanks, Declan).
So, in pretty much exactly eighteen months, we now have over 1500 members. On the whole, these are genuine members, as we sift through them manually and get rid of spammers (can be hundreds per day). Not everyone is a poster. Some of us are watchers, and that's fine. You've seen the figures: 1.5 million pages viewed in 2012 alone.
What really pleases us is that people come onto the forum and comment on how friendly a place this is. In reading the various threads, you can see all of the offers of help. That's priceless.
We've had one or two problems along the way. All either minor technical problems or minor people problems. Hopefully, we have dealt with them, and will continue to deal with them as they happen.
Thanks to all of you for making the forum what it is today.
