Quadsticks

Hokay Dokay, so I shoot off quad sticks, may have mentioned it before. I can head shoot bunnies out farther and more accurately. Once you get used to them they can be put up quite fast and you can move through an arc if the deer more. basically swivel with one leg, see your target and put the other leg down. Bit of an art but works well and quickly once you get used to it. And you don't have to lie down in the mud either.

Anyway, the basic problem with quadsticks are that they are slower to deploy than say a bipod or a monopod. and you don't alway have time to set up for quads. I have spent months chewing over how to improve the design to make it really versatile but the problem was how to make the hinge in a sensible manner. I have spent hours searching the web and couldn't find anything. Hence it would need to be machined and that wouldn't be cheap. Then I came across Splashys post about the 3d printer. Ahhh, a solution.

So tonight I brushed off my CAD skills and a job that should have taken me 5 minutes took me 3 piggin hours. However I now have a solid model that can be, hopefully, produced cheaply to see if I have the right idea.

Now if my idea works it will act like a Monopod or a bipod or quadstick all in one. when the quadsticks are set up it should still be able to traverse 20 feet at 100 yards at least. Oh and bipods and quadstick can make a clattering noise when you shut them something I wanted to design out.

Thank **** for that, its has been really bugging me for months now.
So onwards and upwards.
hopefully get a protype set up in the next month. Well I'm crap at electrickewry so I won't be designing the next markylight, but maybe can revolutionise the world of bipods and quadsticks. I'll be famous me but promise I won't let it go to my head. .............LOSERS................. :D

Once again there is no Feic off button.
Well will be having a look for someone near me to do the printing over the next few days. I might not be impressed with the price though. More info soon. Will make a few calls tomorrow.

Don't know about quad sticks, but they say that shit sticks

I use quad sticks too (on the few occasions that I'm out on foot). B & Q garden canes, super duper rubber bands and paracord at the correct length, so that the sticks can't open too far. Light, strong, stable and very effective. Cost a tenner.

So did i with the same kit, in fact I made bipods and tripods them quadsticks. the quadsticks got me a couple of free stalks
I then I made some changes and some more changes, and they work well and got faster to put up and easier. And the plan is if I can get the hinges at the right price then people only need to buy the canes and assemble them, and it might add a tender to the cost, but hopefully it will be a huge improvement,

it is the, I'm doing it cos I can and I want to, not cos I want to make money.

In saying all this it will turn out to be a shed, well maybe a wigwam. Lol

As bipods go they look interesting. did see someone at the shows demonstrating something similiar but a lot heavier and not as versatile. Although you still need to balance yourself to stop wobble.

i have a pair of them. they are indeed very versatile, although you need a very thin rifle to attach them the way he does in the vids
i mostly use mine for sitting in a hide
