Snow
Re: Snow
Started snowing here in the night and still going at it, less than an inch at the moment but just enough to scupper any plans I had.
Yesterday evening I knocked up a "must do" list, what a waste of time that was, it's now getting to the stage that I'm sick of it.
There seems to be a rabbit shortage on most of my land and can't help but think this weather isn't going to improve things, Oh well, another weekend sat inside trying to keep warm and dreaming of a rabbit infestation.

Re: Snow
Been a funny year for the weather so far
Normally, here in the north-east, we're the among the first to get the snow, but we've been very lucky. All of the snow seems to either on a south-easterly or south-westerly, and hits just above or below us.
You fellas in the south-east or south-west are bearing the brunt of it, and Chas, I'm afraid that Yorskhire gets it whatever direction it's coming from, being in the middle.

Re: Snow
Bit of snow here that looks like it won't be long before it goes to rain... quite 'warm' but cold wind.
And I'm really hacked off with it all.... the concrete block for my long awaited man-shed down the side of the house and a new porch on the front went down yesterday... ok we took the risk that it would take a while to harden and we might need to do a bit of remedial but there was no frost forecast.
Got up at 6.15, porch slab was still soft on top so I left a big note on the frontdoor for the paperboy to stick the papers in a supermarket freezer shopping bag on the w'barrow in front of the door... and I wrote on the bag too.
What does he do? He 'half' reads the note and trots straight down the side of the house and leaves the papers in the woodstore....and then all the way back again over the garage slab.
Grrrrrrr. (Polite version!)
That and a b cat that walked over it last night!!
Fizzing mad!

First day of this years little clay shoot today...... Cancelled!
My birthday tomorrow... hope it's better than today.

Re: Snow
Most years I snaffle a few Daffs on the way home from work at 3AM on mothering Sunday mornings to bulk out the bunches of flowers my kids and grand kids by the other half and they are sometimes slightly past their prime. This year they still wont be "prime" for another two weeks or so.
By my reckoning that means spring is about a month later than some years.
