Hi can anyone help I'm trying to format sd card when I choose format on menu I get a message saying this will erase all data then an option to ok or cancel

When you select Format SD card, it will only erase any data already on the card, nothing else.
Don't select Format Internal Memory otherwise you will lose any and all zeroing info and start up preferences

When I select format it's not giving me an option to select memory it's just showing this message a

Are you sure the SD card is inserted correctly ?
The top of the card should be flush with the card slot.

I will check I'm thinking if I select cancel will it then give me the option I'm to scared to do anything with this cos the manual says select at your peril

If you select cancel yo can come out of the menu without doing anything to the SD card or the internal memory.
If you have computer, you can format the card in it.
