Sir Hank,
Sorry to be a moan, but it's made the page go wide again and means I have to scroll to see what's been written.
For the sake of us non techie, non Apple Mac and non anything else that makes the screen automatically adjust, please out it back the way it was.
Cheers
Bruce

Bruce and Michael, can you please just remind us what browser you're using and whether you're PC or Mac?
Can anyone else who has the same problem please do the same? It's helps us get to the bottom of this.
I use the forum in both Opera and Safari. So, Bruce are you saying that a Mac automatically adjusts the image?
Thanks.
George

George,
I'm running Windows Vista (SP2) and Internet Explorer 9
My comments about the Mac were prompted by Sika Stag (Ian) who uses a Mac and does not have this problem.
Cheers

If I switch off "My Favourites" from the left side of the screen, then I don't have to scroll across to see all of the forum screen. But with "My Favourites" switched on (and even minimised in width) then I have to scroll across to see all of the forum screen.
All the other websites I use appear to be automatically re sized so that all the width of their pages is visible even with "My Favourites switched on.
Hope that helps
Cheers
Bruce

Also,
Why do we need statistics on the front page any way?
I though this was a night vision forum not a self congratulatory back slapping site where we all say "OOOOOOOOH look how many hits and posts there's been"
Before anybody jumps on me, let me make it perfectly clear that I think this is a great forum and that the moderators do a terrific job, and I'm sure they're interested in the statistics, and I'm equally sure they have access to that information without needing to find it on the front page but I'm not sure the majority of the members are quite as interested
Rant over
Cheers

Bruce, firstly I'd be really quite disappointed to think that the members wouldn't be interested in the figures

If you look around on other forums, you'll see that in comparison, our figures show tremendous growth since inception in October 2011. This growth is because our members make this an interesting and friendly place.
In regard to a 'self congratulatory back slapping', I can't see why members wouldn't want that, as they deserve it.
As admin, we definitely want it. It shows to us that all of the hours we put in on here are worth it. All of the time spent discussing the forum on the telephone is worth it. All of the time away from the forum that we spend thinking of how to improve it are worth it. All of the headache we get is worth it. All of the abuse we get is worth it. It also makes us very proud too, along with the kind comments we receive from our members.
To our advertisers, it shows them that they've made the right decision in joining us. In the current economic climate, companies need to be thrifty when it comes to shelling out money for advertising. It also shows would-be advertisers that this is a healthy place to consider placing an ad.
So, on the whole, all I can personally see are the positive aspects of the small banner in the top right corner of the screen.
George.
