Just joined today.

Main reason!
Am trying to navigate the plethora of NV equipment and separate the bulls1t from the facts prior to making an expensive mistake.
Am looking to imminently buy an NV scope and NV handheld.

The scope will be fitted to my .22LR for a short while.
But it will be moved once I get a .300BLK which I will run subsonic for 100>200yrd lamp shy foxes on ultra noise sensitive areas.

Was about to buy a Yukon Sightline N475S
Then my attention was drawn to the ATN 4k Pro until I saw the size of it and saw a side by side comparison to a Pard008....

So! for my NV requirement a Pard008 might be the one...?


QUESTIONS!
Do I go with a Pard008 over the NV mentioned above?
Should I go with the LRF model? Does the in-built LRF make a 'real world' difference?

Prefer feedback from folks who have used the Pard008 against the N475S and/or ATN 4k Pro......
No offence to anyone, but opinions are costly unless they are based upon experience.

Should I open a new post re the above?

I think it's best to open new thread in General nightvision section. If you really want to shoot subsonic to 200y you definitely need a way to know the exact distance, to the yard. Anyway you need 940nm VCSEL if the foxes are really shy, so prepare for external illuminator.

Am currently looking at Wicked lights 940nm or similar

Ballistics are my thing.....fascinating science, been loading for 25 years + so there will be accurate distance markers etc and allowances for large bullet drops at extended ranges. (Especially with 190 > 220g rounds).

The reality I expect to draw them within 100 to 150 yards

If you go for a PARD then forget the wicked lights 940nm IR
It uses an LED and the PARD really needs a vcsel based illuminator.
Your best choice is a blacksun dark engine from the Night vision store or the Light Sabre Wraith from ludicrous lumens
Also, the PARD reticles which have subtensions are pixel based rather than angle based and the size of the reticle might not be enough to provide a holdover point on a 200 yard target with subsonic ammunition (unless you use a rail with some amount of moa)
