Hi,
I’m Gary.
Do a lot of foxing. Recently bought a pulsar thermal and decided to go all out and buy a dedicated nv scope.
Thinking I’ve bought a lemon now!. It’s a pulsar digex n450 and I’m having white out problems. I read up and looked at YouTube and reviews and nobody said owt about this issue🤦‍♂️. Is there a fix for this?.
I’m new to nv shooting and I don’t want to throw more money at buying a separate ir if it’s not gonna work.
Cheers
Gary

Hiya grumps, welcome to the forum. I don't have one - nor will have but these are my thoughts:

Its getting more light than it needs or can best cope with, fit some type of cap with a small hole in it over the objective. If you are getting that while using an illuminator it's too powerful. If not read below.

Start with the hole being not very big - say 10mm if in bright sunlight and gradually make it bigger or have caps with several different hole sizes up to nearly wide open. The idea is to basically F-STOP excess light reaching the sensor look up 'F-STOP'. Completely remove the cap in low moonlight.

Its a shame that NV rigs have been quoted as suitable for daylight unless they have an iris in front of their lens like wot most camera lenses have. I'd have thought the people who make such rigs could have figured that by now.

Hi, it’s fine in the daytime, it’s at night when I’m having trouble. It’s got a small hole in the front lens cover. It’s pretty good in the day.
