Charger voltage.

Post by Firesam » 12 Nov 2019, 08:16

Hi all,

So my charger for the DNV battery twin pack decided to die, and Pulsar/Thomas Jacks can't or won't sell me the charger individually.
The charger and instructions state charging voltage at 5.8v 1A, would i be okay using a universal ac/dc charging adaptor at 6v, or do i run the risk of overcharging the units?
The actual battery packs are purely 4 NiMH rechargeable AA batteries in series.

TIA
Dave

The bare charger is listed on Yukon website as accessory. Also at TJs

In the meantime just read a bit about NiMH charging cycles and I'm sure you can get by with 6V universal. One option would be to source charger for some other device like digital camera that uses 4x NiMH in series, and connect that to your existing DNV slot.

Thanks for that, ill go on the hunt for a dealer who can supply.

It's listed as new item, or maybe there was some generic sales person who didn't know to look at Yukon line-up in addition to Pulsar?
