Hawke varmint

Been using the above scope, Hawke varmint, for a while now. Up until last night I couldn’t really fault it but now the AO ring has gone very stiff. Squirted some oil between the scope body and AO ring, letting it soak just now. Is there any other way to ease off the AO?

Are you sure its a varmint? Mine has side PA.

Belay that, I just looked it up and mine is an SF Varmint.

Be very careful putting oil near a scope let alone inside a scope! If it ends up creeping on the inner lens surfaces there's no way getting it off short of disassembly (which in turn needs a nitrogen purge).

Shouldn’t get anywhere near the inside, I would guess there will be O rings as water doesn’t get in
