I am a new member from Germany.
Already did my first post earlier today regarding the Pard007.
I am highly interested in night vision diy projects and you have a very strong community over there.
Unfortunately, the 008 is forbidden here. We have very strict weapons law here and its getting worse, thanks to EU and certain parties. From that point of view I can understand the Brexit-Idea. But thats the only one.
Hope to share ideas and projects.

Hiya, welcome to the forum Frosty. 
You'll find Puh-lenty of home build ideas in the DIY section that will keep you under the radar so to speak - and my feeling is the CCD type that you'll be building will make you a very happy chappy.
I only use CCD sensor rigs, slightly curious why an NV700 is deemed OK but the NV800 is not, it can't be the laser because they both have them.
