PARD 007/ Hawk frontier / sidewinder FFP scope compatibility

Post by Bear » 14 Jul 2019, 15:23

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me which scope is more compatible with the PARD 007.

Rat shooting, ranges between 20-80 yardson a .22 rimfire.

HAWK FRONTIER 3-15 X 50 FFP scope or HAWK SIDEWINDER 4-16X50 FFP.

Thanks

Jez

Yes I use a hawk sidewinder 6 -24 x 56 and yes they are good with the 007 pard experiment and be patient when you are setting it up I have had mine about 18 months now and I still learn little things about it how to improve it and I like the ffp rather than the second vocal plan the 50 mil objective lens will be ok as well.. If your are shooting less then 100yd I would leave the brightness setting on one in the menu settings or the screen may be too bright good luck with it and I hope you enjoy it I love mine and I use it most nights

Yes I do tend to agree as regards not a big field of view but if you are shooting under 100 yards go down to 6. I zero at 100 yards on 10 mag + the 1.5 on the pard so field of view is quite small but l use a spotter and I've got used to where your target is when you swap from spotter to rifle. But I suppose that goes from years of rabbit shooting you can kill six in a field switch the lamp off and point to all six rabbits in the dark you just know where they are. If it helps when I use my spotter and find the target look for the shape of the hedgs row or skyline above your target that is the easiest way I find to locate your target when you have picked up your rifle to take the shot or if you know your ground you shoot on regular it is just a matter of field craft

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated.

So for specifically rat shooting between 20-100 yards, will i be be able to see the cross hairs of the sidewinder FFP 4-16 through the pard 007 on the rat at 4-5 mag, on the 12mm else version of the pard?.

What are your thoughts?

When using first focal plain scopes the cross is magnify with your target at close range you want the lowest magnification as possible because your pard will give you another 1.5 magnification On top of that. sidewinders should have side parallax adjustment and you will definitely need that for close range rating and another plus factor is the on-board ir on the pard 007 Will work well at less than 100 yards but make sure you get good quality 18650 flat top batteries I get my batteries from wwwfogstarbatteries they have got a good selection quick delivery reliable company I hope this helps you
