Thank you for approving me to join the fold. I’m Matt and I’m in East Kent (UK)

I’m looking to get into NV hunting and have been looking At DIY options and the Pard 007.

One option was a Samsung galaxy s3 phone with a Sony imx322 camera but for a £120 odd build is the pard 007 3x better for the price? £330 ish)

Any advice for a newbie is much appreciated

Buy the PARD - it's designed for NV, your mobile phone isn't.
The delay between the signal coming from the camera and you seeing it on the screen will drive you nuts.

Welcome to the forum.

Absolutely - the lag between what the camera sees and what you see will sooner or later result in quarry having moved by the time your brain tells you to pull the trigger.

Going that route on a spotter would even get on my tits with having to pass something then come back to it while scanning, but I guess it could suit an occasional wildlife observer.

I didn’t realise that the lag would be such an issue!

For air rifle ranges would the 16mm be ok or should I track down a 12mm?!

If your mainly air rifle then consensus is use 12mm from the lads using it for that .

Especially if your daytime scope starts at more than 3x ish mag.
