Banggood mini DVR: how to read menu?

I bought one of these to see how it goes - seems very good value for money given it claims to record up to 1280x720.

It currently records at 640x480 but as there is no screen with it I can't see the menu to adjust it - any ideas?

It looks a similar size as my PV110 in the photo because it closer to the camera but its actually about half the size in every dimension.

The cables are one's I make with 'Y' leads to splice into my camera feed.

Well after scratching a few of my parts :o I remembered I have an old 5 volt 5" JXD990 DVR (which also records 1280x720) but its a bit of a pain to record with and bulky, I made up another cable to link the mini DVR video out to the JXD video in, and bingo. :D

I made the changes from VGA, sound on and 10 minutes record time out but it kept reverting to how it started, but eventually managed to save changes after about 6 attempts and 7 reads of the itsy bitsy user manual with a magnifying glass - bearing in mind I'm a bit of a technophobe.

So a point to note if you get one, your video will have a background hiss and low 640x480 recording resolution with a 10 minute record time out in default mode.

You need to use a viewing device that can plug into the video out. Also note the cabling that came with it is not as shown in the advert, both of the cables have a four pole 3.5 jack with bare cables at the other end - so you'll need to be able to fit plugs as needed.
