Hiya all. I am a newbie on this forum so bear with me. I have been lamping rabbits for many years with air rifles and rimfire. I think it is about time to move onto night vision as they are starting to get lamp shy again. I am considering getting a Photon 6.5 XT. I was looking at the ATN digital which seems to give you a hell of a lot for the money but it is a tad out of my budget.

The aim is to use it on my rimfire and a 223 when I get permission for fox. This means I will be looking for a picatinni rail for the CZ 455 and some adjustable mounts (Probably those from Sports Match look a good buy.

Look forward to any advice from more experienced NV experts.

Hi Uncle Albert - sounding like we are related lol. Welcome to the forum.

I've not used the XT version myself but have heard some gripes about elevation travel: That's no big deal if its only being used on one rifle but might be exasperating if you are thinking it might be swapped between two rifles, and there's something in the back of my mind about some NV devices being a bit more complicated on some CZ's.

Hopefully someone with experience can enlarge or correct the above as needed.

That's the reason for going for adjustable mounts for the CZ. I've read on one of the forums about problems with getting the zero correct so I was going for the Sports Match mounts, unless anyone knows of any similar ones. Problem with foxing round this part of the country is that it seems to be well tied up so I will have to go knocking on doors again. Nearly had a permission but it fell through. Still me knuckles ain't worn down to the bone yet so back to knocking on doors again.
