New on here so just a quick post to say hello and introduce myself.
Hello

Apart from an old nvrs that I used to have on my sub 12 pcp's im pretty green when it comes to NV, would usually request you go gentle on me at this point but after reading many posts on here before joining got to say what a great bunch everyone seems so hopefully no need to!

Im a simple man  , the only thing that I love as much as my kids is shooting rabbits, woodies and magpies.
And my wife of course :D

All the best,

Jamie.

Hi some bloke!

I think your getting confused with Norfolk, just over the border, in Suffolk they have 3 breasts

Was hoping you'd be along sir I have a bone to pick with you......It was your kwik fit add on that kicked off my NV itch again!
Questions to follow!

Ah yes them people from Norfolk, it was the 'folk' bit that threw me.

Ask away with the questions my ansum. Itches were made to be scratched and its amazing what can start one off. Chas on here is the bloke I blame for mine. 8-)

'Ansum'?! Stop it you'll make me blush

Flirting aside and on with the questions!

So im looking for 1 add on for these rigs-

Falcon menace FFP on FAC BSA S10
Hawke paorama EV 3-9x40 on cz455 17hmr varmint

Being a newby to heads up NV's my first concern was can the weight (being located above scope) increase the risk of canting the rifle?
Less worried about the hawke/ 17hmr as its a heavy barrel, but the falcon/ bsa combo is already a top heavy ol rig and since fitting a level realised just how much it already wants to cant.....Your thoughts/ experience please?

I've never used FFP but can't imagine it being an issue. If your particular model has an illuminated retical a module on the eye bell might complicate fitting some camera adaptors. it would rule out my Collet Chuck camera adaptor for example.

The AO Hawke should be fine but it will be easier to adjust without your hands passing in front of the illuminator if you adopt this cable tie tweak:

Ah, bugger hadnt even considered the ir switch, itll definitely get in the way....
Id been considering swapping out the falcon anyhow, love the scope but the bsa with 500cc bottle is already a heavy gun, and the falcons no lightweight.
I have the non ao hawke as was fed up with having to fiddle before getting a shot off, is ao/ sf a requirement for nv add ons?
