Is farting in bed acceptable ?

Only if they are well belly brewed.

I usually try to make them as silent as possible,but if I find it difficult I cough to try to hide the sound come very close to following through with the cough distraction a few times though.

Not only is it acceptable i would say its compulsary , and if you manage to get the duvet up over her head without getting injured its also most amusing

Once you are past 60 there are just so many dangers it's not worth the risk.

After years of training yourself the correct "follow through" procedure you at least have the satisfaction of knowing it wasn't your fault.
It was the procedure that was wrong.
Small consolation I know, but every little helps.

Ribs fully hurting whilst a real bad bout of gas ... due to laughing so much .... wife not so amused & threatening physical violence .... worth the giggle
