Seems that poultry farmers have been warned to put their stock in doors.

Last thing they need is these blasted europeans sending their diseases over here

Looking on the bright side, when foot and mouth hit several years ago I made a killing. Biffa waste were disposing of the carcasses and had to sheet the trucks, all sheets were single use and to be tipped with the load  Oh boy, did they buy some sheets, I was delivering them by the van load to depots and abattoirs
So every cloud has a silver lining, unfortunately I reckon a lot of the cattle farmers never recovered and it was said it drove some to suicide. No amount of money makes up for that :(

True words Rod, a lot of those herds were built up over several generations.

I missed the location, but it has touched down in the UK, but here's the headlines.
Efforts are being made to contain the bird flu infection at the poultry farm in Tetney near Louth in Lincolnshire.

Bird flu in Carmarthenshire, a small 12 bird domestic flock and some ducks have been culled today. Also the Avian H ???? strain has been found in some wild duck in the last few days.
Thanks all
Phil.
