Thinking set up a camera viewing target area and then wireless back to screen, unless there's some better way? I've got plenty of cameras good enough and a few screens, haven't got any means of getting camera image back to the screen though, something I've never messed with. What do I need, what's the range and where from.
Target camera ??
Target camera ??
Right gents, been thinking of doing some long (ish) range shooting just for the hell of it. Problem is it will be a right pain to keep walking back and forth to the target to see if I actually hit it, or more likely how far I missed it by
I can get a clear shot up to about 350 mtrs on a shoot with very good back stop, and that's long for most of my permissions, possibly 400mtrs.

Re: Target camera ??
I was toying with a similar idea some time back and thought about going down the digiscoping route, mainly because I have a good spotting scope and have used it in the past with a conventional camera on the back of it
Did manage to get a good shot of York Minster sticking up out of the mist from 21 miles away using something like 80 x mag, thats 20 on the scope and 4 on the camera
One big advantage of doing it this way is everything is at hand and can be powered from your truck if you can get it to your shooting position.
Fixing a digi camera to the back of a spotting scope is just another form of add-on, but good scopes are expensive and don't know how the cheaper ones perform but at the distances you're talking they might well do the job.
Never got round to actually doing it so not speaking from experience, just theory.

Re: Target camera ??
I've got a spotting scope to be honest, but it's c**p
It's an Aldi / Lidl one and for some odd reason even at 60mag the view through my scope at 24 mag is larger
. Spotting scope is also not very sharp, can't see bullet holes in white card at 200 mtrs
I don't mind walking to target once with camera, battery and target. Just don't want to be going back and forth. When I zeroed the .204 I must have walked ten miles, I was glad to get home

I am probably telling you wrong here mate but i think most everything thats not apple is android , that camera looks like it runs off 5 volts so it should be easy enough to use one of them small powerpack thingies.rodp wrote:Nice little unit thatFrom what I understand (not very much) it should link to my phone ?
