Australia is home to the worlds deadliest spiders. I guess its a case of if you can't beat them, join them.

Aye, tensile hammocks have around for a while. Not very good though

You'd still have to sleep on a mat of some kind or you would freeze your ass off, dunno how easy it is to keep a mat under you while in one of those things
not exactly backpacking gear either
I don't use bivvy bags though. Nasty horrible little things


Give me my gathered end hammocks any day :D

Might be an optical illusion. The black part is the hammock which is 11 feet long, the brown bit is a 6 foot underquilt and good to -15*c

Don't think I could sleep in one of those, I have to be able to sleep on my side and they look like it's a sleep on your back job ? :think:

You'd be surprised rod, i sleep on my front or side in bed but on my back in hammocks are the best sleep i get anywhere. with down filled insulation its like being set in warm fluffy jelly :thumbup: :D


i'll send you one if you want, perfect for a corner of the workshop :D
