Clive AWOL AGAIN

Post by Hutchey » 23 Dec 2015, 12:59

Hi,

Has anyone else seen or heard from our scarlet pimpernel Clive?
Been waiting for a shim that he said would be ready for my Ward700 back in November. :wtf:
I've called and keep getting that bloody answering service, have emailed loads and also PM'd on here and replied on here.

Really, how the F... do some people stay in business? :x

I've bought from him before and he's a nice bloke but the communications are worse than anything I've ever come across in my working life!

Was looking at buying a thermal spotter from him but as I've not had a reply for months I'm seriously wondering if it's worth it? What if it breaks etc and I need to send it back,

Honestly, it seems that the only way to get through to people is to use social media (which is really not great when people are moaning quite rightly)

Yes, we have all been there with Clive.......don't worry, he will get back to you, he does sometimes have too much on, but don't
worry he's not going anywhere

Any way....what shims do you need exactly as i do get some shimming metals in now and then if you can't wait ?

Oh! I've jst order a few items from him, recieved an acknowledgement email but no predicted delivery date which I've just chased. This was a recent order but there was not a 'closed for Xmas' on the web site.

Is the NVS not Clive's main business then i.e. spare time hobby?

What is the usual (and aparently accepted ) 'waiting time' from NVS before you start to become worried/annoyed/ask for money back etc. Communication is essential, even if it is not what you'd like to hear.

Sorry if I'm coming over as a prig on his, but not used to this from the shooting related suppliers and shops I normally have dealings with, this is my first foray into NV.

Clive is...Clive.
He will usually respond to posts on here and follow up any query. Periodically he goes AWOL, then reappears a little later. No point in phoning his office, he apparently uses an outsourced message taking service.
His products are good. His warranty work is good. His communication is sometimes .. lacking.
Sometimes I wonder if he's an old hippy who periodically goes out chasing moon beams. Maybe that's why he's into NV. :P He may be on holidays.
I trust him enough that when the exchange rate improves I'll order a Wardy from him. I just wont expect him to send it same day the way Sika Stag does.
Send him a PM, bump this thread every couple of days and wait.

I know all too well how much production time can be lost trying to get all the messages dealt with, and many of them are lost time impulse window shopping. Everyone wants to natter all day too like a new best friend lol which is why I seldom give out my number.

His gear is in high demand and I'd like to think he's actually getting stuck into our orders rather than talking about getting stuck into them.

Hi All,

On holiday at the moment, back at it on Monday.

It was such a rush getting as much out the door as possible on Christmas Eve that there wasn't time to put up a notice on the website.

Happy New Year!

Cheers
