Any Sign makers, vinyl lettering men on here ?

Right men, been asked quite a few times (lots) over the last couple of years for lettering on jobs, always put it off because we supplied sign makers with blank banners and it would be a conflict of interests.
However, local vinyl supplier now does blank banner material "off the roll", cheap and Chinese but it does the job. Obviously a lot of the sign makers now use this.
So, I've bought a vinyl cutter and a load of vinyl, just need a cutting program now. After something relatively cheap, simple to work and reliable. We've no intention of doing complex graphics just fonts and the odd shape (moon / stars etc). I used to use one ages ago so know how to operate it, sort of.
Any recommendations for a cutting program, cheap, reliable, simple ?

Looking that way Fizz 'twas a bit of a gamble on here though Probably going to go with Vinyl Master for what it costs and see how it pans out. Used to use Artcut before but it's a bit problematic, plays up now and then.
It's only an add on to the core business so not the end of the world if it goes pear shaped

Don't know a great deal about programs for cutting out vinyl lettering myself etc. but I do give some freebee logs to a friend who owns a printing and graphic sign making company. I can easily call a favour in as long as you give me a pecking order of what vinyl cutting program you are looking for ?, or is it easier for me to find out what makes and models of machines they are running and what compatible cutting programs might be available that would suit you etc. Let me know and I will do a bit of arm twisting Phil

Cheers Phil, running a Creation Pcut cto 630, or trying to Just be good to know what's a good, cheap, reliable program for text and simple shapes.
Ran a cutter and printers a while back now but we used an expensive program as we were printing truck side curtains, therefore it was worth the cost.

first off, Artcut is not a very good design/cutting software to use. Many complaints from users. They usually switch to Signblazer , which is FREE design/cutting software that can be downloaded here on the forum.

There is also a great Newbie manual, created by a forum member, that can walk you thru the process of setting up your cutter, Download in first post. Hope this helps.

SignBlazer is both a design and cutting program, all-in-one, and also works well. But, if you are already really good with Corel, then I would opt for SignCut so you do not need to learn a new design software.

Thanks Phil. It's right in saying Artcut isn't a lot of cop, it can have problems, and I believe it hasn't been updated since 2009. Trouble with signblazer is that the bloke died before it was finished properly (damned inconsiderate of him ) and there can be problems with it on non Uscutter machines, worth a shot although there's no support now. Sign Cut I think costs a bomb.
A lot of these cutter programs can be a pig to get up and running which is why I was after someone with experience to say "yep, limited program but easy to set up and use" ............ or not

I'll have a look at the newbie manual and see what the crack is Cheers buddy.
