Hi Dully, welcome to the forum. Watcha shootin and what with?

You'll find quite a few people go the half way route - with a NV spotter to covertly locate the quarry, get into a good position and only then deploy the visible beam lamp equipped rifle. It's my preferred night shooting too now unless I'm promoting something I make to sell.

Rather like this video, The camera is set to B&W mode which is better for NV and the light you see moving is from a red LED torch on the shooters rifle:

There are many types of spotters being made now, hand held ones with 5" HD monitors, ideal if you carry your gear in a truck - and hand held ones with near eye displays that are better for slipping into a pocket if yer on foot.

Dedicated truck one's can be got or made with mag mounts and remote control - or what you saw at the end of the video for not as much money.

Thanks for the welcome
All my shooting is on foot so need something that can go on the rifle or a spotter that can go round my neck or in my pocket.
need something with a bit off range as the terrain dictates some shots are between the two to three hundred yards any ideas welcome not sure which way to go night vision or an image intensifier
