Stolen rifles

Saw it earlier on the news, 2 rifles and ammo stolen from a vehicle around the Scunthorpe sees I think it was, whilst the owner was shooting nearby .
A Blaser 243 and a Remy 223, both with rounds and one with an expensive nv scope on it.
Wouldn't want it to be me in that situation, I get real twitchy about gear left in the vehicle.

Bugger. I'll bet there are quite a few times some of us leave something in the car that we never ought to have. These days I'm not fit enough to lug gear around a field so if I can't drive in it I don't shoot in it lol.

Ouch...
It's a 'double whammy'; the chap has lost his rifles but even worse, they are in the the hands of some scalawag who cannot be trusted as he's just stolen them......
If I leave my rifles in the vehicle I ALWAYS take the bolts out and take them with me. That way, if I lose a rifle (it would be a massive loss) at least some a*sehole can't use it some sinister reason!
Legally, if they are temporarily in a locked vehicle I think you cannot be held responsible for the loss.
This is the first time I've heard of it happening in a long while.
