I've just spent a wet Sunday machining new bushes to fit the Cobra DSA to my MTC Mamba and Envis to DSA out of a lump of Delrin, they now have a real Rolls Royce fit, no struggling to locate, a re-ensuring firm fit and no longer the need to even tighten the clamps ;)

Heaven

Marky, I have got a small lathe that can only turn wood, but the pleasure that i get from making things is off the chart. I did a bit of wood turning when i was at school which was more years than i would like to remember (i'm 55 so you can do the maths), i also did a bit of metal turning during my apprenticeship. So when i lost my last job, i was unable to carry on due to the pain i was in. So i am on a waiting list with my local area heath for this and that leading up to an operation on my spine.

So i wanted something to take up a bit of my time and to save me from going mad, so i chose to buy a lathe. I weighed up my options and i thought i would be able to use a wood lathe more, i would be able to fill not only my house but other family member homes with my art (works of art). Being able to make things that you either need or want is a great feeling.

So ALVB

Roger

I don't have a lathe, or a mill or any of the kit that I had access to at my last company. If I had the kit I wouldn't have room to put it anywhere as my garage is too small. Or is full of too many motorbikes?

Anyway. I miss my old company with a fully kitted out tooling section that I was able to help myself too.

Now I have to pay for it.
