Metal detecting

Be very careful, a lot of clone garretts about and they're rubbish. I got collared with one but managed to get my money back Either buy new from a reputable dealer (Regtons) or ask for a guarantee it's genuine. The clones are not any good at all.

Genuine propointer,

The Garrett PRO-POINTER has both audible and vibrating alarms to indicate the presence of metal
objects. The alarms increase in intensity as the PRO-POINTER is moved closer to the metal target.


The clones don't.

I haven't been out but another thing I found out the other day is never forget to take a bag. It was raining so had wet weather gear on with no pockets it was very difficult taking my finds along with me holding them in one hand. I'd found a point off an old machine which I left behind so I'll have to remember to pick that back up but I'll never go without something to put the bits in again.

James, have you got a weather cover over the box of gubbins ?

Yes that was one of the extras. I even took a black bag to cover it in the real heavy downpours but because I'd only stuffed it in my coat I lost the bugger somewhere straight away I was under trees anyway so it wasn't like it was getting absolutely ringing. Well, it still works anyway, I just checked incase

I'd just like to state for the record that these people on this shite are nothing like proper detectorists. They are in camo with a shotgun and rifle slung over their shoulders with Nv on the detector

Missed three of the series used to have a dabble myself many moons ago you guys have got me going again now might have to invest in one one day soon as I know a fella that does the fields I shoot and his had some nice finds fair few musket balls probably from the bible revolt that happened all around my place must have a look in my back garden as well coz my place has been here over 400 years

I don't know mate It's new over here so it's going to be a suck it and see. I KNOW the Garrett is good, so do thousands of other folk and I ain't one for re-inventing the wheel.

Buy one and try it, if it's really better than the Garrett we'll all be jealous , if it's no good at all we'll sympathise with you

We wouldn't laugh, honest



Personally, at the moment, not knowing anything about the new one I would stick with Garrett
