Frogman  My best thoughts and advice are not based on any proven methods but here you go >>>
Strap the diy blunderbuss to a tree :lolno: and tie a long or may be two longer lengths of string to both triggers  and hold on to your kahunas  with your left hand  and go for it with a smile on your face  , while uttering a loud prayer  to the big conservationist who is floating around the big blue yonder  , also I have found that a bit of positive thinking always helps when in any doubt that Sod's Law is about to kick you in the backside as a bonus for any cock-ups that were not foreseen before hand. Don't forget to make some notes as well as the testing is in progress just in case ? because you already know before hand that as Murphy is not around to lay the law down with a safety plan and some good old fashioned guidance your on a wing and a prayer anyway  wtf: :o
Have a good evening all and Frogman as it's TGIF tomorrow. Phil

Because a pound note was actually a silver certificate, payable in silver.
Fun fact, the price of a sheep use to be a silver shilling. A 5 pound note would be worth 100 sheep if the politicians hadn't turned it into funny money. Now it will buy a pound of lamb chops.

Pretty good, it's actually an IOU from the Bank of England to certify that you have the silver in their vaults to back your spending.

I disagree there, we all know the oldest currency in the world is kept in a females knickers. It can buy anything, and always could

 Here you go Frogman as it's almost TGIF  "Origin of buying and selling in Guineas in Great Britain"
Although the beginnings of the auctioneering business at Hawick can be traced back to 1817, it was not untill the late 1840s before it became established. This period coincides with the tariff reform campaign of Sir Robert Peel whose government in 1846 as well as the more famously repealing of the Corn Laws, also repealed the less well known Auction Tax.
Since 1777 under the regulations governing this Auction tax, auctioneers were under the control of the Excise, and had to inform them of such sales and keep detailed documents. These were required because any moveable goods which included livestock, if taken and sold anywhere other than on the farm of origin were liable to a tax of 1 shilling in the £.
So now you have learnt a little bit of British history Frogman  all this riveting trivial knowledge is of no bloody use at all but you are now in a better position to steal the limelight in any pub quiz if a similar question crops up.

It would take me hours to explain how I know about the above bit of useless information as that was another real barrel of laughs of a best forgotten saga and yes I am aware that I need some therapy  :lol
Thanks Phil.
