trouble is Phil, when the electic shock hits, Rod's going to sqeal in a very high pitched voice.......... :o

then again, it may have the desired effect, ........ you know.......a vixen mating call type of scream. could bring foxes in from a long way off

go on Rodders, give it a go and see if it works.....you could allways patent the idea :D

Last place I would want to be is on the floor when screaming like a vixen on heat

The change in voltage on the shutdown pin between the speaker working and being muted is only 1 millivolt - and that ain't enough to get a reliable on/off indication from an LED - I was hoping for a couple of volts at least.
Can't do any more with it until I get back from Darkest Africa.

I just goggled "foxpro visible volume indicator" and the latest version of the Spitfire has now been upgraded to the Inferno with a better handset that shows the volume...... but.....that still doesn't tell you if the caller has actually received the commands from the remote. PITA.

http://www.predatormastersforums.com/fo ... er=2819111

I fixed the range on my FX32 by changing the remote's aerial for a more powerful one from ukmouser but I don't know if the later aerials can be upgraded.

Not a lot of help really at the mo........ as far as I can see the aux speaker socket doesn't disconnect the internal speakers but I don't know if the volume is set or adjusts with the main unit.

How about a pair of electronic earmuffs withe the volume turned up?

Cheers

Hi Rod
Don't know if it's any good to you but the icotec 350 has a red light on the side that flashes when it's on call. The 500 version might have the same light too and that has a remote with a visible display.

Hi Gary, didn't know that. So, this red led, does it just flash when the caller is actually calling? IE, if light flashes then sound is coming out of caller, if light isn't flashing then no sound from caller ?

That's good to know. So if the remote failed to switch the unit from "Mute" to "Play" then the light would just remain constantly on? Just double checking

Are different calls easily put on the 350 and what format will it play ? Swapping from fx3 to Icotec 350 may be the way to go

Your getting technical now lol. You can put your own calls onto an sd card as far as format and swapping I haven't got a clue my brother does mine  sent you an email so you can see. Someone else will know all the techy bits to explain to you. Cheers Gary.
