It all depends on the value of the items imported.
Low value items like electrical components of $12 or less dont seem to get charged.
If your spending a few hundred quid on a night vision scope then you will pay import tax and duty. (Approx 30%)
Parcel force are the worst ones because they charge a holding charge (£18+) on top of the import tax and duty

John
I've bought two watecs from different sellers, both Chinese, as well as batteries, lenses, torches etc , but never had to pay any tax or import duty, don't know if I've just been lucky
seems to be very hit and miss as to weather you pay or not

I wouldnt worry about import tax on small item like lenses and batteries brackets etc.
Its only if your importing expensive items.
You will also find most items from bought from china through ebay are marked as a gift or a $5 value by the sellers so wont get any charges.
Dont forget that items coming from china may take 3-6 weeks.
On the other hand i had an item from china delivered withing 5-6 days this week and that was with the back log of postal deliveries after there national holiday where nothing happens for 7-10 days. (Mine probably landed on the top

Well iv just had my T20 delivered.
I ordered it with 2X batteries and a charger.
I was worried there might be a problem getting the delivery with the batteries.
So there is still hope for us to get deliveries from china.

FWIW my T20s now show as in transit on the Swedish post website, my DX, Manafont, & FastTech tracking numbers don't exist in the Singapore & Hong Kong post systems.
Thanks of the link, tried it yesterday and again just now but it says it's in 'maintenance' 'til the 16th.... so I'll have another go tomorrow.
Cheers

Yoooooooreeeeekakakakakaaaaaa!!!
The 3 T20's finally dropped on the mat yesterday and I can see why the tracking number shown on the invoice never worked......... 'cos it's a completely different number which does work in the HK tracking system.
But then.... it's an additional label over the top of the original address label and I think the original tracking number is underneath.
I'm just happy they've arrived.

My label is dated the 6th Sept, so if you ordered on the 9th George, hopefully that means next week if they're working their way through the backlog.
Fingers crossed on that.

What makes it worse is that they're not for me. Just ordering for a mate
