and suggesting "apprentice small engine repairer" specifically specialising in the smaller cc 2 stroke variety for arboreal culture and groundwork who then retrained for a white collar career either in administration/teaching ? or health and well being ? or more likely could be involved with something like Air Control at a busy International Airport ? like Bristol ? Maybe even finance ?, lot of white collar workers are in finance. I probably miles off the right answer ? but what the hell lets all have guess at £0.50p a guess with all winnings go towards running the forum

Don't think you're far out Phil. My first guess would be teacher / lecturer. Could even have been internal sales, definitely white collar though and I don't think the finance industry would be too far out of the question.

You are so far out. My last job was a mini bus driver (different) and before that for several years I worked in community mental health (very different). Now pretty much retired I'm afraid. I always wanted to be a policeman or a train driver or a pilot. Truth is i should have been a fireman, the pension and perks are unbelievable and you don't have to become a mason to get up the ladder.

Savoury Relish you have me thinking about a contract I used to have researching and secretly compiling files of information for Eamonn Andrews's big red book/program "This Is Your Life" I am fascinated by family tree coincidents and would wish to enquire if you have been fortunate enough to have a Mrs Savoury Relish and any subsequent off-springs within your family unit.

Am not sure how this goes (addendum, this bit removed by pickle) I walked away but then I had this strange thought so i came back - your not the strange Welshman from HM Customs & Excise in cammo r u.

yep, that would fit in. I take it the mini bus driver was to get a complete change of job?

Well Savoury Relish, I am truly shocked

and stunned

that you would used such bad language

on the Sabbath, and there is me singing your praises and marking you up with compliments and free "kudos points" for your input and the great wealth of general knowledge that you have shared with the many interested forum members

Shocked

Well hairyyoda you are a consummate flatterer and linguist. I wondered if you might be a fisherman who shopped at Tesco Extra. Rodp, a ten oclock start has to be much betterer than a week of night shifts back to back.

Ah my new best friend

Savoury Relish

, I am assuming that your mini cab driving starts at 10.00 o'clock whereas your mental health support work was on a night shift rota ??? I truly have no idea where these enlightening and informative detail of your career path are heading but I do take a lot of pride in the fact that you are very comfortable about sharing your C V details with us all as we are all relative strangers to each other except the joyous addiction of having a weakness for walking around in the dark looking for Mr & Mrs Fox, Rabbit & Rat. I am now truly stumped to pick a new subject to further start a chat about so I will leave it in abeyance and retreat because it is way passed my bedtime

Well you did ask so I thought you were interested. But then you probably say this to all the boys. You are most likely a very noble Welshman but we only have your word for it. Belay there I should not be asking personal questions, but hairyyoda are you Gog or Magog? And i found out who Stan Boardman is and there is a kind of parallel. Lest we forget.

Fraulein Stihl runs today. Starts on the smallest throttle opening but will not tick over. The far eastern copy carb is glued/locktited together (one side) and does not want to come apart - you have been warned. At over £12.00 a pop these carbs are not exactly value for money for yet another throw away item.
