I've had this killing debate numerous times and can honestly say I mostly don't enjoy killing, the exception being rats, I bloody hate them.
When it comes to rabbits and foxes I enjoy the moments before the shot and the shot itself, but I don't actually enjoy the fact that I've killed something, strange I know.
I do enjoy long shots more so than the easier closer ones although the end result is usually the same, the only way I can explain that is to me it's the shot and not the kill.
If it was the kill then I'd supposedly enjoy both equally.
To complicate things further I'm not that keen on target shooting so make of it what you will.

what i described earlier about the moment the animal drops like liquid could be both
i said "like liquid" on purpose because to me thats always gonna be the very best of shots, or kill's.
interesting thought that. y'see this is why i posted this thread. we can have a semi sensible discussion on here and express your views without all the bollox that the other site is so famous for
Re: what do you reckon lads?
Yes I think that is a good answer. It is the shot and that encompasses the work up to the moment you squeeze the trigger.
Anyway is anybody disagrees with me I will just remove their posts and ban them!!!

I love the sound when you hit them in the sweet spot its like a popping sound and brains all over the deck a foot behind its lifeless corpse

Re: what do you reckon lads?
I see it simple... I kill bunnies.
Mainly because I occasionally eat them, if not, they go either to friends freezers or to the local butcher. Nothing gets wasted. Do I like killing them? I choose to get my own food. I am not excited to pull the trigger but I am sadden when it goes wrong. So why do I go shooting for pest control?
The land owner has by law a duty to control the rabbits numbers. If I only show my face for the occasional rabbit for the pot, then I very likely loose that permission. I like the challenge of hunting and feel good when the kill was humane.

...the doctor said that I need to do gentle exercise... I said to him that I already did... trigger squeezing!
