Definitely go for the bigger laser

For a Good cheap spotter look at the pard 019 (is it 019 lads?) Somebody will correct me if I've got the numbers wrong.
Often come up used and a wanted add might get results too. Never used one myself but they seem decent for the money
Hello, very good once you set it up right,

Thanks for all the useful information lads, very much appreciated. The little range finder looks very useful and seems the way to go sometime in the future but I am going to range a few areas first and see where that takes me. The pard looks very good inexpensive in comparison to thermal. I watched Bruce review on YouTube and he seems very positive on it once the upgrades are done.Even from the point of view of a novice like me it looks very good. I wonder does an off the shelf unit now still need lense work. I know from the review I would definitely upgrade the ir.

Whether or not you need the additional lens in the 019 eyepiece depends entirely on how good your eyesight is.
If you have normal vision, or are short sighted, then you probably won't need an additional lens.
If you are longsighted or need glasses for reading, then you almost certainly will need an additional lens.
AFAIK, the NV019 has never been upgraded - it is exactly the same as when it was first released.

Cheers

My eyesight is good so that’s a plus. Thanks for clearing that up as I took it up wrong.

Just a follow up on the ir. Ended up with clives black sun dark engine max and I tried it out tonight with the wraith, I am very impressed with the difference it has made. The view is very clear and sharp, great product. Thanks Clive and a massive thanks to all for the advice on here.
