I think the Labour Party must have lost the key to their mortuary door, when it was left open unfortunately.
We now have Gordoom Brown joining the ranks of the living dead on national TV, obviously not wishing to be left out and wanting to hit the limelight just like Tony and Ed.

Not sure what the date was ? but it was around the Gordoom Brown era that the UK sold off all of the UK's gold reserves when the world price of gold was almost at rock bottom world prices.
We are governed by numb skulls and soothsayers

Yep, remember that Phil.
B-liar had been in power and realised he'd buggered the job up so was looking for some gullible person to step in, enter Gordoom.
Sell assets at rock bottom prices and wonder why you're still in the poo.
A bit like selling your house for a fiver and wondering why you're having trouble getting back on the property ladder.

We elect people no smarter than we are and expect them to make magic.

I think you need a well healthy balanced society to have a decent democracy.
We do not have one or the other right now.
It comes back to the economy ( DUH!!! )
So we elect the crazies now and think they will change the direction we are going in.

This theory I put to you seems to feed in well with Link.

Labour, the NPD and most of the left of centre parties are not functional oppositions any longer because they have nothing to offer that is new and they are unable to even work together.
The parties of the right have nothing to offer but some of them have crazy bordering on fascist ideas that we have not explored in long time ( send in the black shirts, because there are not enough old people around who understand how bad that worked out, but plenty of people who remember and connect the lefts ideas with socialism )

In the last 50 plus years not one UK politician can possibly claim any credit for any improvements on how the UK is governed, organised and financed etc. Todays news is that all new green economy vehicles are going to attract £130.00 plus per year excise duty because the Government are short of funds ?

Here is how Norway dealt with their North Sea Oil wind fall of spare revenue income. >>>>

"In Norway's case money makes money. Profits and taxes from the oil and gas industry give the government oil fund $1bn a week. The fund holds on average 1% of the world's shares. In Europe it owns more than 2% of all listed companies.12 Sep 2013"

There are brighter politicians in Norway than any of the "UK Numbskull Soothsayers" that have "EVER WALKED THROUGH THE CHAMBERS OF WESTMINSTER OR THE HOUSE OF LORDS."

Blair's actions and his dirty hands in the middle east is a large contribution to todays problems in Iraq and Syria and now he is back with his advice about Brexit

I would not have any "spare urine" if any one of them "spontaneously burst into flames"

And the term "Numbskulls and Soothsayers" is far to mild for a honest comment "PERIOD"

"There are inmates in the madhouse with more gumption ?"

Rant over

Orwell was quick to say real honesty ended in the 1930s ( I am inclined to agree ).
But good intentions and government I think seemed to hang on a lot longer.

Again most people do not get too worked up over how bad out leadership is however until there are rumbling stomachs and holes in the roof.

We managed a fairly long period of calm water in what is normally a very unstable system.
Think about it for a minute our whole society has been based on a theory of endless growth in a world of finite resources just as a staring point.

Logic would dictate >>>
"The greater the financial gap in the wellbeing of the population between the different classes now, the greater the cost to rectify the differences at a later date in the future ?"
We are all doomed it's just a case of "what day of what month in which year etc. ?"
You have to admire the French, they mass produced "Guillotines" until they sorted out all the cake eaters

Well I do admire the French for a lot of things ( mostly arts and culture ).
And they do have an admirable trait of rising up against the cake eaters as you say.
I just don't think means justify ends.

We live in a world where we could all be free and have our needs met.
But the last guy who was serious about pressing that point was nailed to a cross and the matter has not been up since.

Hey what about those Greeks?
They invented everything and look where that got them lol.

Noticed in the paper today (ok, it was the Sun) that MP's are DEMANDING all police outside Westminster are armed. How about the rest of us ? How about around shopping centres?
This put the fear of God up them, a terrorist attack aimed directly at them. :o

Shame, or more to the point, a great pity that civilians had to be involved. :(
