I know Oakhampton, there's a tea wagon on an old trading estate not far from the lights at the end of town. Used to drive through a wasteland to get to the estate.

Don't think I'll be that far down but not certain yet. We do some work for viridor and got to go down and sort out some invoices, ................from 12 months ago

Almost came to live by you a few years ago. We had an 8 acre field in hatherleigh (?) that had an old residence on it. Wouldn't let us rebuild it as there was no record of it existing. Showed pics etc to planning but no chance.
There last conversation went like "WE have no record so it doesn't exist" When I asked to check records they said "No chance"
What really annoyed me though was when I said I'll employ two people from the village straight away and another two in 12 months as unemployment was high then they just said "not our concern, we're planning"

That's what the council REALLY think of us, nothing, zero, zilch.

Yeah, field's long gone. Brand new barn on it as well, big one. We were going to move us and the business down there, everything, so there would have been work for the village. I know the chap that owns Bones, the dog food factory, and he reckoned unemployment was high then so to employ 4 folk within a year would have been good. Planning didn't give a monkeys about folk out of work.
