i did loads for the price of parts and postage. i had to stop doing in the end, cos i was spending most evenings on it.....never entered my head to properly charge folk for em

Some bullshit on that website!
They claim to have the most powerful IR illuminator, but they're using an LED with 600mW output.
The oslon we all use puts out 1070mW.
I also don't believe they check the output of every driver on an oscilloscope.
At the current exchange rate they're charging £81 for the T20 IR

there was no cats in bags john....the t20 was the answer to a question posed by george. which was, we need a simple d.i.y i.r torch conversion that anyone who can use a soldering iron can do

another lad (hartshot) put a post up saying that he'd just ordered a torch (t20) and do we think it would be any good for a conversion
i had a look and said that looks ace, send it to me and i'll stick an oslon in it for ya

the result was the 'mk1 d.i.y i.r illuminator'

if i'm being totally honest. i'm a little disapointed that t20's have become a comercial product. because they came into the public eye specifically as a money saving d.i.y project, but thats the nature of posting stuff on the internet i s'pose...of course someone else would have put two and two together before long and converted one i'm sure


but at least mark and ian arent taking the piss on price like some (even though it took them both months to realise they were any good LMAO)
