I've done this...with flip up scope caps, lol...

I have ALSO done this at the RANGE... but not with flip caps? I had a 40x fixed power scope on my 308 with the heavy target tube on it... i aim and position the gun at the target, i rest my trigger finger lightly on the trigger... and have my head down to get into position to to aim at the top edge or the bottom edge of 30 caliber hles at 100 yards (a fixed power 40x scope is awe inspiring... but, only inspires awe when ON THE TARGET... you dont "scan" with a 40x, LMAO...)

its like i am "washed out", cant see a THING... humm... i have th 18" sunshade on, hard to imagine the SUN is getting me... i didnt TOUCH the gun except a light caress on the trigger... what th... the GUN isnt moving, theres movement blurry in the scope... is there a big bug on my... AHHHHHHHHHH!

i pulled my head up to look and see what was boogered up, there is a 6 year old and a 10 year old hopping and prancing like RABBITS not 5 yards in front of my scope...

I had JUST asked "dad" next bench over, that he was SURE his litle kids he brought to the range (and i do encourage taking little kids...) were "okay" around guns?

The guys cleanign his gun, the kids are in front of my scope...

"Sir?...SIR!... remember when i asked you if your kids were okay around guns? And asked if it was okay to FIRE? you said yes?...", and i pointed at the kids...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

really, a lens cap on the INSIDE of the lens? Thats not playing fair, LMAO
Well, I understand that, boys... but see, my CAT gets the silly idea you're making fun of HIM... then he gets, *really* mean...

whippy stick?

he yelled and carried on a little bit, and this worked "5 minutes at a time"... lol

I mean, i LIKE when people take little kids to get into shooting, but... they kept running out in front of me, i ha to have eyes in my @$$ that day. Was never so happy as when they left, LMAO...

====================================================

now, by CONTRAST? My one buddy down south? Hes into my online gun thing i am in, once a year a bunch of us meet somewhere in the states for a big gun thingy... he was the first one of us to bring a little kid to on of the "RLB-fest"'s we throw once a year.

kids like 6 years old? bright kid, a litle hyperaactive like all kids his age should be... and this kid is safer than many adults at the range all weekend!

I was keeping one eye GLUED to him on the firing range, but, i realized hes as safe as all get out. His dad lets him shoot the 45acp, and some centerfire rifles too. (mainly he shoots "his own" rifle... a bolt action cricket 22 single shot... but, he DOES shoot other stuff, lol)

we have real certified RSO's, and we carry a million-dollar insurance policy for our club, but, the kid was fine! "range hot" and "range cold" he got figured out real quick. His dad told him he has to ask an adult if its okay to go down and set up targets, which he did every time all weekend.

heck, when he wanted to shoot my 357 and my 45acp (my daily carry guns) I just said "the blue ammo boxes are for the auto, the green ones are the wheel gun..." and off he went and had fun with them... i just didnt let him shoot my 44mag, dont wanna scare him with big recoil.

=================================================

comparing THAT 6 year old, with the other 2 "rabbit children"? I figure the difference is in the father instructing them, i dont really know. cos the difference is night and day...
