My younger bruv who is more PC clever than wot I is might have sortid it.

Since I had int exp 10 which I don't use - which had adobe flash plug in for it, and I use FireFox with another instance of adobe flash plug in, he thought there might be a conflict. He uninstalled IE 10, both adobe's then reinstalled adobe for Firefox and it's been stable since then.
