George how much better would you say it is scanning with pvs7's than say a pvs 14?
What mag would they be or can you change lenses?
I was out last night and I just can't see clearly through one eye after looking my nv mono so really don't know whether it's worth going for a bino type spotter.
As for the thermal imager how do you find it?
Obviously the man sized targets are fine at distance but what sort of distances could you spot foxes in cover?
Hope Im not going off topic, Im just trying to find out what I want for christmas...

Re: Christmas wish list
I find spotting with both eyes easier. Less eye strain. These will accept the same lenses as the 14 and Envis, but to be honest, for spotting, I'm a fan of the 1x. I've tried others on it, but gone back to the standard one.
Regarding the thermal, it only arrived yesterday, so not very au fait with it yet (at all, really). The unit I've specified, hopefully has detection range for fox at 300 metres. Detection range for a person is 1000metres.
Only time will tell, but I'm afraid that the figures regarding the units we mere mortals can afford are lacking somewhat.
I spoke to one firm, regarding my ultimate spec and they were happy to supply exactly that, for £50,000!!!!!!
It will be at the nv meet me this evening

£50,000
That's well out of my league
I'd be interested to hear your reports on how you get on with yours though, so keep us informed.
I know what you mean scanning with magnified lenses and on clean ground and relatively close distance the 1x can't be beaten but I found I needed magnification to spot the eyeshine at distance as there's mostly cover around where I shoot. I've noticed I get much more eye strain using IR with the nv, when scanning clean ground where you don't need IR my eyes are much better to walk off straight after scanning. Guess it's down to the brightness through the eye piece though I can appreciate it being more comfortable for your two eyes being used to the nv.
