Went out at 10, set up by 10.20. Back home and unpacked by 11 - rain stopped play. Turned out to be a shower too . Bugger it.

Sulking now :(

No cloud here, H, so a very bright moon. Cold wind from the north too.

took my eldest out last night for a couple of hours, luckily stayed dry, only 7 rabbits :( , but did pick up a dog fox :D , saw another 2, but didnt stand

cant believe how much the bloody grass has grown in a week, already 8'' high, which makes spotting the bunnies a bit harder.

good to see some starters on the surface though

cheers jock

Same here with the grass, in the last week it's really kicked off.
There's loads more rabbit here than last year too, my Dad wants some for the pot so will get him down to thin them out. At 72 he's still a cracking shot, I'll give him my HMR to use with me, he'll be like a kid in a sweet shop :D

I went to the pub last night. Intended to have an early one. Oops. Spent today playing with scopes and cutting up a load of logs for next winter. Yey! So gave tonight a miss. Have to go out tomorrow as need to zero 2 rifles. Going foxing Monday. Bloke wants to see my thermal and said bring the rifle. Who am I to disagree.
Mind you, I am not seeing a lot of rabbits at the moment on the land so spending more time chasing the elusive Muntie.

Oh yes - as my driving partner Churchill has been known to say:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igfRP_A4JnA

The retical is a tad on the thicker side of average so target shooters won't like it though, and one of my shooting mates who tried the rig and got a seriously good group says it's like looking through a milk bottle bottom. But he usually spends well over 1K on any scope he has so he was just peetaking.

I was hoping it would be practical for proving NV range claims but the readout is too bright and it's too close to the top of the screen to view it with a decent sized lens anyway. If you can figure how little inertia there is left in a 20 grain bullet at 200 yards and that it's not enough to flick a much heavier golf ball away this might interest you. Note the crosshair covers the golf ball - which at 200 yards is less than 1 MOA and I was using a cheapo camcorder with a small screen to view the shot.
