I thought my time had come about 8 years ago. I was in bed for five days with almost every kind of chest complaint a man can getand have never fully recovered and feel like I aged 20 years in those five days. I was too ill to even contemplate a fag. Come day six I felt a little better and lit on up. As i took the frist puff I suddenly realised i had not wanted one fro five days so i squashed it out and mashed up the rest of the packet.

I now consider myself very lucky for that illness because without it I would likely still have a fag every time i taek a dump, answer the pohne, get in the car... yada yada.

Keep it up kiddo.

I've been on them for 43 years and the longest I managed without them was 12 weeks, and that was over thirty years ago.

I've just finished trying the drug, Champix. Had to stop that for the severe nausea. I'm too weak-willed, I guess.

Best of luck though, it must be a great achievement to stop them.

Why don'y you try the Electronic ones George. I used to smoke 30 cigars a DAY. I know, right ! Mongo
Been using one for over a year and much prefer it to the old Cafe Creme's now. It satisfies my fiddly fingers and you still get to have a puff, brilliant.
See if this sounds familiar, my old morning routine was
wake up
cough
put the kettle on
cough
spark up
cough and choke a bit
make the coffee
cough
have a drag
cough
hoik up a giant loogey and spit it out
sip my coffee
cough and choke a bit
have a drag
choke and cough simaltaneously
spit out last loogey
sip coffee
have a drag
Set for the day
RIDICULUOS, RIGHT
Since going to electronic "vaping" (this is 100% true) I have not had a chest infection, sore throat, or coughed anything up !
Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised
...is this a pistol in my hand, or am I just pleased to see you ?

It can be done. I stopped about 4/5 years ago. Not sure how, but now I have no desire and it is like I never smoked in my life.
Alway feels a bit like Ripleys believe it or not, when I remember I used to smoke.
Prior to that I have given up smoking various times and the most lasted about 12 months and that was a daily struggle.

Tried and failed on them too. Always forgot to charge the bloody things, so when they went flat, out came the proper ciggies :(

Well, Declan, just to rub salt in the wound, I'm afraid that I had a very pleasant evening

On my way to the little shoot, I was unimpressed with the conditions. No wind to speak of, clear skies and what I knew would be a half moon. Set up at 5.30 and had one adult dog at 5.55 and a vixen at 7.30. Using the .223 last night. Saw another three, but they wouldn't travel in from the adjacent fields. Packed up at 9.30.

Both foxes came to a vixen on heat call on the Scorpion. Watched a badger for a long while and it was like bunny city too. Lots of young 'uns about.

Had a chance to try out some new kit too (well new to me, as I bought it used). Set up the Idleback rifle chair. Outstanding! Having used it, there's a couple of little things I'd like to add to it, but overall, it made for a very comfy evening. So nice to shoot from.

If you're shooting over a bait station, a particular area for charlie, or covering a bankside for bunnies, this thing will certainly fit the bill

The idleback is certainly a well made chair. I was very impressed when I had a look at one at the show. And for the price they should be damn good.
I have a cheap lookielikee which will not last as long but for the amount of use it will get from me made it a better financial option. If I was going to spent a lot of time sitting in one spot then I would definitely consider it.

Which one's that ? Looked at the Idleback but wouldn't use one enough to justify the cost.
