No, all over the girls in Liverpool, just out with my ex-army mates for a party near the coast, It's supposed to be a business trip!

Adam, there are many possible explanations as to why they communicate via email instead of over breakfast. The two most obvious are:
a) English as a second language difficulties. It's a well known fact that most Brit's don't speak English, they speak one of many strange aboriginal dialects that apparently date back to your Golgafrinchan ancestors; full of whistles, whuffs & 'ts. Much like the clicking of a Kalahari Bushman. Depending on where Splatty hails from, he could be speaking fluent Gumby while Jian is speaking English.
b) A civilized persons disgust at consumption of gross 'food' that should have been abandoned when starvation was no longer a constant threat. This can kill both appetite and conversation. I have a theory that it's the ongoing consumption of kippers, bloater, White & Black Pudding that have caused our galactic neighbours to ostracize us, not the obsession with cricket.

I actually don't mind a bit of black pudding, generally over here it's in an 'Irish breakfast' probably because no cafe would dare advertising a cup of tea for 20 bucks.

I had it with 2eggs, several rashers of bacon, a few sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast and one of those battered potato things I can't stand (had to force it down)

Lovely

Yup, that's an Irish Breakfast here. English Breakfast is a tea bag. They go well together. :)

Of course you are English. Born there means no other sensible country will have you, so you are a Pom by necessity, if not by choice.
Being a mongrel allows for interesting choices in self definition. I'm a blue eyed blonde with a red beard. Probably Viking /Scots genetics. As far as I am concerned I'm an Aussie. My housemates are a white guy who claims aboriginal status an a Maori who thinks he's a white Scot.
