I'm not feeling the love here............. :(

Bad language isn't needed, although on occasion as an emphasis it can be very effective. Unfortunately our American cousins never seemed to figure that out and say pooh all the time (Or a word somewhat ruder) and it just isn't funny. I digress.

I'm probably getting old and I do use it a lot but I try not to use it in places where young people will see or hear it. Funny that cos I swore even more when I was a kid, provided only my mates could hear me. :D cos me ma would give me a thick ear is she heard me.
I find myself saying pooh a lot at work but that is cos they are a bunch of santimonious ahem, pooh heads with "you can't say that" attitude. But their rules and pays my bills so pooh head it is. Everybody knows what I mean. Sometimes less is more. :D. and yes I know the forum doesn't pay your bills but to a certain extent we are guests on their forum which they choose to run pretty much at their own expense. I doubt the advertising pays much towards the Blasers they are all shooting..

Relax and don't take it personally, the 2 guys are running a forum and you know what , oh gosh here we go again, "Pooh" happens on the other sites. Being a mod is 1, not easy and 2 a thankless task. I think we are all just trying to keep this forum nice and relaxed without the , Poohing idiots. Your not an idiot so sit back and think about it. (I'm not having a pop at you by the way)

Just remember the old saying, measure twice, cut once. The problem with the written word is that it sticks around for ages and doesnt go away and is there for other people to see long after you have forgotten about it. That then sends an impression to new people. Whereas if we were sat face to face it would all be throw away comments and nobody would notice.

Don't get yourself banned (We are not in a Orwellian forum (does that make any sense?)), we are a good forum here and you input plenty as we all do and we are all helping each other. Certain other sites would kick you off without a bye your leave. And we don't want this site to become the same and neither do the mods I guess.
So lets get back to normal service and stop letting it annoy you. We have nightvision to create.

I'm afraid that even in the light of a new day, you still don't acknowledge the fact your use of the 'c' word is unacceptable. Putting one asterisk into that word simply does not detract from it's vulgarity.

You say that you're not being allowed to express yourself, but it's because you can't seem to do so without the use of expletives, which you've been asked not to use on several occasions, that we're in this position.

As you thought you'd been badly done to, you then thought it a good idea to make the contents of my pm request for you not to swear, into a thread, in the hope that the weight of the forum members would be on your side, against the big bad moderators. Well, judging by the amount of pm's I've had regarding your bad language and angry outburts, that backfired on you.

We've said from day one that this forum was not going to be like a police state and we'd like to think that we've stayed pretty true to that. As we've seen on many occasions, we have very healthy discussions and we're all likely to do some swearing at some point, and that's fine. But, as adults we all know where to draw the line with our swearing. It's simply knowing the difference between right and wrong.

What you seem to forget, Rick, is that I'm not just a moderator on here, I'm a member first. An active member, who likes to share information and loves the fact that others share their information so freely, without holding back for fear that someone might copy their idea.

It's as a member, who happens to be a moderator, that I object to your bad language and would-be martyrdom. I'll desist from making this personal, though you seem unable to do so.

It's time for you to take a holiday.

What is the matter with swearing anyhow, sorry but it's part of every day life these days. The only wood that i find distasteful is the word that begins with "C", it's slang for the female reproductive hole. Now in the presence of a man only work place, then i have and will continue to use it. But in the presence of a female then i stop using that word.

Now i worked in a normally male only enviroment where swear words were the norm. But i can stop using bad language at the drop of a hat, when a female is present. Although i have known females who swear as much as a male, but when it's from the mouth of a female it's so much worse.

A few years ago i had a full blown (veins in the neck standing proud pumping) with a pastor, over his daughter and my son's behaviour. I was trying to get him to read a text message that my son received from her, which was full of sex words. Anyhow to cut the story short, he would not go and get her phone so i could prove who was sending what to whom. But to my wife, children and neighbours surprise for a 20 min rant i managed to not swear once.

So each to their own, if we have to be 18 or over to join then swearing is part of it. But if its open to every age then no swearing, or even putting stars in place of letters youth's are streetwise and know what is meant.

Hi porky
There is no age restriction on this forum, and the word in question was in fact the C word that you mentioned in your post.

Then as moderators you were right to delete the original word/post and to bring it to the attention of person who had wrote it. So moderators on this matter you have my backing and if the member refuses or can not stop using the word, then a ban is the only avenue left.
