Welcome Muddydisco, Although i don't (thick really) build night vison stuff myself, i got mine already built. I went for the NiteSite NS50, because i am only licenced for air rifles and won't ever be able to move up because of my depression (the system thinks that i might go mad).

I know that against a home hade device the Nite-Site is expensive but for me it is perfect. Perhaps a big company will come over the horizen with a hand full of cash to buy up the best home-made ones, but they will only buy ones that will make them loads of mony (blast from the past there, you that don't know what i mean ask mummy and daddy).

So good luck in your builds.

I quit shooting a while ago and got rid off everything. Now just getting started and getting new the brocock past the wife was hard enough with out £400 ish on a nv unit. I'm good with electrics and my hands, so needs must for now.

You would probably see the benifit of the Watec camera, they have the best contrast I've seen from a ifer red sensitive camera.

If your good with your hands and with electrics look at my 'MarkyLite' for 40 yards you would probably get away with two led's and a smaller driver total cost around £25

:geek:
